THESE RULE MUST BE FOLLOWED IN ORDER TO AVOID CONFLICT!
These rules apply in any area of HOS, including the CBOX(es).

Rules highlighted below in yellow are Proboards rules, and will not be modified further for HOS member use.---------------------------------------------
MAIN RULES
---------------------------------------------[*] NO USING A PROXY SITE TO GAIN ACCESS TO HOS.
- If a constant change in your IP address is brought to an admin's attention, you will be challenged and punished accordingly. There is no reason why your IP address should change so frequently or at all. Please be aware this should not be a problem as long as other HOS rules are followed. IP addresses are checked only after rules are broken or if needed to confirm poll votes and the like.
[*] NO CHEATING IN ADMIN/HM/DH SPONSORED CONTESTS/EVENTS/POLLS.
- e.i: House Banner contests, Site Banner contests, King and Queen voting, etc. All events will contain a warning and instructions. Make sure to follow them.
[*] NO SPAMMING THREADS OR VIA PM (PERSONAL MESSAGE).
- Any information (which include links) sent to members without prior request is considered spamming. You may advertise links in your signature section as a small image link, text link or within the Members Only advert board.
[*] NO POST-PADDING, EXCESSIVE ONE-LINED POSTS OR GOD-MODDING.
- Post padding means creating bad posts, double-posting, and more to gain a higher post count more quickly. Excessive one-lined posts would also be another form of post-padding.
[*] NO STEALING FROM HOS!
- Taking information from HOS such as original board names that are non-specific to the Harry Potter series, (List one of the affiliate sites for "You're From" in the sorting form), or other character names being used on other sites beside HOS is ILLEGAL. All HOS original creations MUST stay on HOS, unless otherwise given expressed permission by the main admins. See T.O.S..
[*] USE OF ANOTHER LANGUAGE!
- This is no longer a Proboards rule, but will remain a HOS rule with a few exceptions. Only conversations are allowed to be written in another language while the rest of the post must be written in English. Also, any posts that contain any other language must have a translation. This will make it easier on our English only speaking staff.
[*] NO ONE UNDER THE AGE OF 13 CAN JOIN ANY PROBOARDS SITE.
- This also includes pictures of famous (or not) children under the age of 13. It's a form of child exploitation and is against United States Federal Law. Any graphics on HOS using a child under the age of 13 will be removed immediately, and without question.
[*] NO SEX RELATED CONTENT.
- Meaning anything that requires the removal of clothing to inappropriately expose one self should not be done, as well as sexual acts/favors or discrete mentioning of any inappropriate body part of a male or female; this includes inappropriate dirty/vulgar talk, too. (HM's favorite is any random word that's not edible; don't pick any type of food) Any threads containing inappropriate sexual relations will be locked and moved without question or notice. Keep it PG-13.
[*] NO USE OF ILLEGAL DRUGS, CIGARETTES, ALCOHOL, SEX, PORNOGRAPHY, NUDITY, OR ANY OTHER FORM OF ADULT CONTENT; PROFANITY, HATE, SPAM, FRAUD, RACISM, MLM, PYRAMID SCHEMES, OR PROMOTE ANY ILLEGAL ACTIVITY.
- The term 'Mudblood' is allowed since HOS is Harry Potter based.
- NO USE OF ALCOHOL: Students are not allowed to role play using context consuming alcohol. Only Butterbeer.
- NO USE OF WEAPONS: Types of weapons include: Any type of guns; Machine Artillery; Cannons; Knives; Swords; Daggers; Bows and Arrows, Non-magical bombs, etc. However, students may have in their possession a Splicing knife which is ONLY to be used for/during Potions Class. Though students are not allowed to use a Splicing knife outside of class.
