NO USING A PROXY SITE TO GAIN ACCESS TO HOS

If a constant change in your IP address is brought to an admin's attention, you will be challenged and punished accordingly. There is no reason why your IP address should change so frequently or at all. Please be aware this should not be a problem as long as other HOS rules are followed. IP addresses are checked only after rules are broken or if needed to keep banned members off the forum, confirm poll votes and the like.

NO CHEATING IN STAFF SPONSORED CONTESTS/EVENTS/POLLS

This includes House Banner contests, Site Banner contests, King and Queen voting, etc. All events will contain a warning and instructions. Make sure to follow them or you may be banned from participating in future events.

NO SPAMMING THREADS OR VIA PM (PERSONAL MESSAGE)

Any information (which include links) sent to members without prior request is considered spamming. You may advertise links in your signature section as a small image link, text link or within the Members Only advert board

NO POST-PADDING, EXCESSIVE ONE-LINED POSTS OR GOD-MODDING
|
Post padding means creating bad posts, double-posting, and more to gain a higher post count more quickly. Excessive one-lined posts would also be another form of post-padding.

NO USING HOS CONTENT WITHOUT THE ADMIN'S PERMISSION!
|
Taking information from HOS such as original board names that are non-specific to the Harry Potter series, (List one of the affiliate sites for "You're From" in the sorting form), or other character names being used on other sites beside HOS is frowned upon. All HOS original creations MUST stay on HOS, unless otherwise given expressed permission by the main admins or contents creator. See T.O.S.

USE OF ANOTHER LANGUAGE
|
This is no longer a Proboards rule, but will remain a HOS rule with a few exceptions. Only conversations are allowed to be written in another language while the rest of the post must be written in English. Also, any posts that contain any other language must have a translation. This will make it easier on our English only speaking staff and members, and help to ensure that no rules are being broken.

NO ONE UNDER THE AGE OF 13 CAN JOIN ANY PROBOARDS SITE

This is a Proboards wide rule. Any member found to be under the age of 13 will be removed from the forum.

NO SUGGESTIVE NUDITY OR SEX RELATED CONTENT
|
ROLE-PLAYED CONTENT: Meaning anything that requires the removal of clothing to inappropriately expose oneself should not be done, as well as sexual acts/favors or discrete mentioning of any inappropriate body part of a male or female; this includes inappropriate dirty/vulgar talk, too. (HM's favorite is any random word that's not edible; don't pick any type of food) Any threads containing inappropriate sexual relations will be locked and moved without question or notice, and a warning or ban may be issued. Keep it PG-13, please.
IMAGES: Images, photoshopped or otherwise, exposing any under part or side of a woman's breasts regardless if they are covered by hands/arms/fingers/etc, or excessive exposure of the 'V' lines that angle down toward the groin, will not be allowed. Images of someone nude must not show more than exposed shoulders. There is also a limit to how steep the neckline of a woman's blouse/shirt/costume should be which would ultimately expose cleavage, and that is no more than 30 inches. Refer to the diagram in the following link: link. Also, graphics showing anything below the waist requires the model/celebrity to be wearing articles of clothing no smaller than a pair of shorts (which should not expose the buttocks suggestively).

NO USE OR GLAMORIZATION OF ILLEGAL DRUGS, SEX, PORNOGRAPHY, NUDITY, OR ANY OTHER FORM OF ADULT CONTENT; PROFANITY, HATE, SPAM, FRAUD, RACISM, MLM, PYRAMID SCHEMES, OR PROMOTE ANY ILLEGAL ACTIVITY

DEROGATORY TERMS: Only Harry Potter related derogatory terms are allowed, such as 'Mudblood'. However, HOS does not promote the use of derogatory terms in any manner.
USE OF ALCOHOL: Role-Playing your character consuming any alcoholic product is allowed, though only for Adults/Graduate characters (must be 21+). Showcasing alcoholic containers in images is allowed, however, no photo-shopping images of minors under the age of 21 with alcoholic containers will be tolerated. HOS does not promote any specific brand or their use.
USE OF TOBACCO PRODUCTS: Role-Playing your character using any tobacco product is allowed, though only for Adult/Graduate characters (must be 18+). Showcasing tobacco products, such as cigarettes etc. in images is allowed, however, no photo-shopping images of a minor under the age of 18 with tobacco products will be tolerated. HOS does not promote any specific brand or their use.
SOME WEAPONS ARE PROHIBITED: Types of weapons not allowed are: All types of Guns, Machine Artillery, Cannons, some Knives, some Swords, some Daggers, Bows and Arrows, and Non-magical bombs, etc. However, Graduates/Adults may be in possession of a bladed weapon which are to be only basic knives, basic swords, and basic daggers with NO magical abilities/properties.
